Building Jigsol: Why We Started and Where We Are Going

Every great product starts with a problem that is too frustrating to ignore. For us, that problem was watching businesses struggle with software that promised to make their lives easier but ended up creating more work.

The Problem: Software That Does Not Fit

I have spent years working with businesses of all sizes, and I kept seeing the same pattern repeat itself:

  • A business purchases expensive software that promises to "transform" their operations
  • They spend months implementing it, often hiring consultants to make it work
  • The team is retrained to use the new system, abandoning processes that worked for them
  • Six months later, they are either forcing workarounds or looking for a replacement

The fundamental issue? Business software is built backwards. Instead of adapting to how you work, it forces you to adapt to how it works.

The Realisation: Technology Should Serve, Not Dictate

This frustration crystallised into a simple but powerful question: What if we built software that learned your business instead of forcing you to learn the software?

That question led to three core principles that guide everything we build:

1. User-Centric, Always

We do not build features because they are technically interesting or because competitors have them. We build what real businesses actually need, shaped by continuous feedback and real-world usage.

2. Automation First

If a human has to do something repetitive, we consider it a bug. Our goal is zero-touch workflows—where data flows seamlessly between systems without manual intervention.

3. Integration Is Not Optional

Your business does not exist in a vacuum. Jigsol is built to work with your existing tools—Xero, Sage, WorkflowMax, and beyond. Integration is not an add-on; it is the foundation.

What Makes Jigsol Different

We are not building another "all-in-one" platform that claims to do everything but excels at nothing. Instead, we are building an operating system for your business—a central nervous system that connects, automates, and orchestrates everything.

Here is what that means in practice:

It Works Around You, Not The Other Way Around

Jigsol adapts to your processes, not the other way around. We handle the complexity so you can focus on what makes your business unique.

AI-Powered, Human-Focused

We use AI to eliminate repetitive work, not to replace people. Our automation handles the boring stuff so your team can focus on strategic, creative, and relationship-driven work.

Built for the UK, Ready for the World

We understand UK-specific requirements—HMRC compliance, Making Tax Digital, IR35, AWR regulations. But we are designed to scale globally as your business grows.

Where We Are Now: The V1 MVP

Our MVP launch focuses on solving the most painful problems first:

  • HR Management: Centralised employee records, holiday tracking, department management
  • Finance Integration: Seamless sync with Xero and Sage Payroll
  • Scheduling & Operations: Job management, resource allocation, working patterns
  • Recruitment Compliance: AWR tracking, contractor management, skills matrix

Where We Are Going: The Future

This is just the beginning. Over the next 6-12 months, we are building:

  • AI Assistant: Natural language queries, predictive analytics, automated insights
  • Advanced Automation: Workflow builder, custom triggers, zero-touch processing
  • Integration Marketplace: Pre-built connectors for 100+ business tools
  • Mobile-First Experience: Full native apps for iOS and Android

Join Us on This Journey

Jigsol is not just a product—it is a commitment to doing business software differently. We are building this platform with our users, not for them. Your feedback shapes our roadmap. Your pain points become our priorities.

If you are tired of software that forces you to change how you work, if you believe automation should eliminate busywork not create it, and if you want a platform that grows with your business—we would love to hear from you.

Let us build the future of business software together.
